Why I no longer shop at Whole Foods Market

posted 2007.02.17 Saturday

I haven't been sufficiently motivated or able to figure out why my post "Why I shop at Whole Foods Market" has been by far the most read item in P-Shock history.  But in light of the fact that it is, it seems important to mention that I no longer shop there; a friend convinced me that Trader Joe's is cheaper and just as health-helping.  I do miss the Chicken Adobo Burrito, but the Jamaican Jerk Chicken Wrap is good too.

(Who likes the site redesign?  Who doesn't?)

The redesign looks inspired by Radiohead. Who's the guys in the masthead?

James Buchanan (L); Gordon Tullock (R). But would Radiohead have added that whimsical, rose-colored-glasses touch?

I like the bubble in the corner.

The bubble, of course, is the one thing beyond my control. The branding efforts of blog-hosting companies with tiny market shares are pretty amusing, aren't they?

Heh, that is pretty funny as branding. That bubble is almost unnoticeable.

I've applied for a job at Trader Joe's, just because I love it that much.

As for design, go with just Tullock.

I read this posting and thought I could shed light on why your "Why I shop at Whole Foods" was by far the most read item - it shows up as the first hit on a google search of "Chicken Adobo" or at least it did when I searched. See, I just bought one, and it's delicious, so I'm trying to figure out what the hell is in here. But for $5.99, I don't really care, because I won't ever make it myself!
