It is hard not to be seduced by the rush of the latest, fleeting accountability moment. Sanity may be restored if one recalls the feeling of waking up on November 9, 1994; history tells us that it was a feeling. I have to expect history will judge yesterday's ritual to have been similarly innocuous.
brace yourself, buddy--i agree with you! although i guess we already had
this conversation. i think there is definite reason to feel at least
somewhat positive. some of these changes might at least stop the
bleeding, so to speak, stop the worst of the worst. as much because
popular sentiment is louder than it has been in a while than because of
actual changes of personnel. but i am pretty much rocking low expectations
all the time these days. i know, it's sad and somewhat out of character.
that said, i can't help but be stoked that Colonel fucking Cathcart finally
resigned.
